Sip n Save 4 lyfe--May 6, 2022

What is up everyone?! Happy Monday! I am currently sitting trying to think of what I even did this week because I am horrible at taking pictures and we have been busy with life lately! I am currently loving life as a content creator, it has become one of my favorite finding tools and its cool to be able to develop new talents on a mission! This week I got a brand spanking new camera (I love you mom and dad) and its been awesome to take out everywhere! Might become a vlogger ??? Anyways let's get to the summary of fab stuff that happened this week!

☆ We popped off on tech work and finding people online! And taught soooo many English classes and got my Spanish critiqued in every class!! Wooohooo!
☆ met the cutest pigs ever in the world!
☆ last Monday I learned how to cut hair and found out you have to oil the blades #saladdressing4thewin
☆ filmed a video of me and some cutie bestie kids washing cars! It was a blast!
☆ invested in a sip n save which means pay $5 and get a "free" drink everyday for a month so I've been back to the powerade grind and never been happier
☆ went on exchanges with sis diether who only speaks English and it was kinda fun because it made me realize I can actually speak spanish because you're kinda forced to when your comp can't haha
☆  had a pizza party last pday and also got accused of being a felon by my housing coordinators, lol what a time
☆ had the best member dinner party bonanza with the elders, spaghetti and our best friend frankie!!

Which let me tell you about Frankie! He is such an amazing guy and so pure. He had a stroke and is also going through chemo right now and honestly just having a hard time. Because of his health problems he can't hold a job and he also doesn't have any family support. Everyone knows he doesn't have much but he is just so happy to be alive and grateful to God for every small thing he does have. He had us over for dinner yesterday and he made us spaghetti and was just so happy to have us. We come to find out Frankie had just been robbed of pretty much anything of value in his house and he still chose to use the last of the money he did have to feed us. It makes me cry just thinking about it. Life hasn't been great to him but he chooses to give thanks to God and serve others. He is truly such an amazing example.

We have all been blessed with so much and it really made me stop and think about that song, have I done any good!
Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone’s burden been lighter today
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?

I invite you all, myself included, to really ponder these questions and think about how you can do better to do good in the world! We have been blessed with so much, and we have so much to give!

Love you all tons and tons! And as always, God loves you more!

This Is The Saddest Song Ever--April 25, 2022

Hello everyone! Long time no see! I truly have been slacking on my email game and my mission president would agree haha (oops) I feel like time has just been flying and I forget all the things I need to do haha. Life has been crazy fun and I just love it haha, here's a run down of some highlights

☆ subbed the cutest sunbeams class and during singing time we were singing  mother I love you and this little kid just blurts out " this is the saddest song EVER!" and was just so heartbroken and upset by his feelings, it was so pure and cute and the funniest thing ever haha it brought me so much joy
☆ We did service for a family we are teaching and cleared tumble weeds from their yard and we had a stack 6 feet tall and like 10 feet around it was actually insane
☆ had elote from an awesome ice cream truck 10/10
☆ Got food poisoning from some mole and were puking on the drive home haha
☆ went to a burger place and took a pic with the loml
☆ got absolutely rejected by my abuelito even though we could hear his phone ringing and choosing to ignore us haha cried
☆ went out knocking doors and got invited to a baptism and confirmation party for a different church? Had bomb food and an awesome talk about other religions and how as long as we are trying to listen to God's voice and respect/love his children we are doing what he asks! They were so awesome!
☆ had a funeral for a worm with some kids we are teaching
☆ attempted to film videos for hallar paz! Go like the page please!!! It's cool ðŸ˜Ž
☆ taught tons of English classes and met lots of awesome people! One of them we met on the street and he was like um one day can you please preach to us ? We almost died, it was such a miracle !

Man, being a missionary is hard work but I love reflecting on the weeks and seeing all the miracles big and small! There are so many random little things that just make me die laughing and love life so much. Sometimes in life you're down in the dumps with a broken femur, having problems with family, feeling abandoned by God, feeling alone in your trial and just begging for the burden to be lifted and I can just testify that great things await. Even though your trial might always be there, even your whole life God has great things in store. Maybe it comes in the little moments that make you laugh, good friends to cheer you up, an answer to a prayer, a good song on the radio, or sometimes it will come in the form of a miracle. But no matter what I can promise that great things await you, and me, and all of us! Because God has a perfect plan, he knew we would make mistakes, go through hard times, struggle with temptation, and deal with imperfection our whole lives. So that is why he sent his only begotten Son, for us to have the opportunity to experience the great things of this life that could only come through the healing, sanctifying, freeing power of the atonement. I can promise you that God has great things in store for you! You are so loved that God would've sent his only begotten son again and Jesus Christ would do it all again for YOU !

I love you. But God loves you more!

New Comp!!!- April 11, 2022

Woohoo what a wild week! I got my new companion Hermana Maxwell on Wednesday and we have just been figuring out life together haha it's always interesting to start a transfer with a new comp but it will be good!! We are making videos for the Spanish Facebook page so we've been working a lot on that which is exciting! But also overwhelming because I have no idea where to start, but I'm always down for a good challenge :)

HIGHLIGHTS!!
☆ a nail in the tire the night before transfers so changed that at like 1030 and headed to jiffy lube bright and early lol
☆ got some cute rama 9 t-shirts from the best members ever!
☆ saw my bestest girl in the whole entire world my mtc comp Hermana Smith!!! We met up at transfer sites and I literally cried haha I love her
☆ knocked doors and a funny old lady gave me a plant so that's always fun! I hope I don't kill it lol
☆ found out that Moses Lake has poison water and we have to boil it now lol thriving!
☆ I officially made it as an hermana with receiving 500 water bottles in one day, I love it haha

hahaha one thing that actually made me die laughing this week was going to church. I looked real tired and a lil rough not gonna lie and I shook a members hand and said hi and he reintroduced himself because he didn't recognize me lol! I am still laughing over that, I literally see them multiple times a week! That's how you know it's been rough lol

Anyways, I just love you all lots and thanks for keeping me updated on your lives and for loving me from afar! I don't have too much time to write some super spiritual hype up for this week but attached is a quote I love! Sometimes we don't feel like we are taking a ton of wins or are making much of a difference or even coming close to our goals but I know God sees us and it's all part of his plan! Every little win we have even if it isn't great in our eyes is good enough for him! We aren't asked to make miracles happen overnight and to be perfect all in one day, just doing that one percent better and having those little wins is how we accomplish the great things! I know the Lord helps us every step of the way, through every win and loss! Yet his love is unchanging :)

Love you all so much, but he loves you perfectly!

Plan of Happiness-April 4, 2022

Whoa I am truly bad at writing emails lately but I miss yall so I will do a speedy update to end out this transfer haha!

♡ General conference!!! It was incredible and so fun to watch it with my friends here in Moses Lake! So many amazing talks that truly just made me grateful to be a member of this church!
♡ I have truly never eaten so much good food in my life, I haven't had to cook for 2 weeks haha so I'm thriving
♡ I also learned how to make tortillas and fresa con crema with the nicest lady in the world!!
♡ danced with the literal cutest abuelo I ever did meet, he has the best cowboy hats in the world and he is so proud of them haha
♡  nearly died after having a day full of rejection, house inspection, car troubles, and all our friends dropping us haha but my sparkling water saved me
♡ made a cheesecake outside at 10 pm with my dear comps
♡ ate 30 tacos in the span of 3 days because I could never reject a bomb abuelita made taco

Man, it has been a crazy ride the past little while but I wouldn't change a thing! A mission isn't easy but celebrating the little moments and recognizing tender mercies changes everything! Oh on that note of celebrating life, we got transfer news this week and I am staying in Moses Lake and getting a new companion this Wednesday! I'm so excited to see where the next transfer takes me and all the amazing people I will be able to meet! It's always such a wild transition and really throws me for a loop every time  but at the end of every transfer I come to realize that God's plan and timing is perfect! You can look back and see all the little things that happened, the challenges you went through, the things you did wrong, the things you did right and recognize that it was all necessary! Even if it is hard, I know God has a plan and that is is perfectly curated for you and where you are right now! His love is infinite and extends to all! If you don't know that, pray to know, watch general conference and listen to the words that God wants you personally to hear! I know this church is true, I know your heavenly father loves you and you can feel his love and guidance through his living prophets today and I am eternally grateful for that and this beautiful plan of happiness!

I hope you all have an amazing week and find joy in his plan! I love you all so much but our Father in Heaven loves you oh so much more!

It's A Party In The WYM--March 21, 2022

Hello hello!

I hope you all had an amazing week and are just loving life right now! I feel like life is just a rollercoaster of the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. This week was a pretty good ride though haha I always felt like people were lying to me when they said that the mission just gets faster but man I feel like the weeks are just flying by! This week as usual was full of lots of teaching and finding but it was awesome!

We just started off our week strong on Monday with a visit with our favorite family, The Cortez'  and they made bomb food, you've never experienced true love until you eat a taco from someone who grew up making them, oh baby they're good! I eat Mexican food like 10 times a week and I've never been happier or also prayed more that I can fit another taco so I don't offend someone haha

Tuesday! This day was fantastic because I got some letters in the mail and it made my whole day! I appreciate and love your guys' notes more than you know!

Wednesday we gave this sweet lady who had posted on Facebook that she has been going through a hard time and needed a haircut! She just started crying she was so grateful and it made me happy that I just get to help people all day long!

Thursday was a great day too! Our awesome mission nurse called and somehow got me in to start PT so I can kinda hobble around without crutches now! Woohooo!! We also celebrated St. Patrick's day by having a strictly green lunch and listening to some instrumental Irish jigs haha Gotta celebrate the little things!

Friday was a busy one! We had a few lessons fall through which was kinda crap but we actually ended up having more lessons than we planned for that day which was awesome!

Saturday we partied hard and had an absolute blast! Our friends that just randomly showed up to church 3 weeks ago got married!! So we threw a wedding together and it turned out beautiful! They had some awesome bachata music going and the branch members were loving every second of it!
Then I found out that my friend Ezequiel that I've been teaching online since January was able to meet with the missionaries in his area!! I'm so happy and so is he! He is convinced that the other Hermana is my BFF and I sent her there but I told him it was God and he was hyped haha

Then! We had a milagro lesson with a lady named Rosa! I am horrible at directions which ended up being a miracle because we got lost and ended up at this ladies house right as she went outside to get her dogs so she couldn't pretend she wasn't home! It was immaculate timing and with some persuasion she let us in and we had such a powerful lesson and she invited us back for Wednesday!! Who knew being bad at navigating would be a blessing?

Sunday was just as amazing! I was sitting in the back by a single lady in the ward when another random lady just showed up So during the second speaker she pulled me into the hall since I was sitting in the back and I was able to give her a BOM and teach her about it while everyone including my comps were listening to the talk haha that was a weird one! Then we made pasta with our friend Gloria which was so fun! I'm practically a pro now! And wrapped it up with dinner from Juana and her granddaughter Harmony!

Overall, it was an amazing week with lots of tender mercies! Not all weeks, actually most weeks, aren't like this as a missionary but man when they are I am so glad I chose to serve a mission! You learn and grow so much, especially during the hard times! And I'm grateful for it all!
It reminds me of this quote, "Rely on the Lord, for only he can turn a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, a trial into a triumph, and what's broken into something beautiful!" Remember that God is so good and that with him you can do all things! It is all on his timing and in his plan but with time and with God all things can be made whole and your efforts will not be in vain! God be with you till we meet again! And he always is ;)

Sorry this email was so long but I love you all and never forget God loves ya more!!

Milagros!!--March 14, 2022

Woo-hoo happy Monday!

What a fantastic week it has been and boy would I love to tell you some highlights!

☆ Turns out my knee is fine and I just broke my femur!!  Milagros people

☆ We got to go to the temple and man I have missed it! The peace that you can feel in the temple is unlike anything else and I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to go and feel God's love so strongly!

☆ We had kinda been having a slow week and lots of people kept canceling on us but Friday and Saturday we popped off and were able to have lessons with some really awesome people!

☆ I tried chicken feet! That's a one time experience for sure haha

☆ Our fav abuelita taught us how to make Sopes!!

☆ Met the most awesome guy named Audel who was just so sweet and thrilled to see us and it just made me so happy to be a missionary

☆ Made some memories, knocked lots of doors, got rejected a million times, and the times we didn't were fantastic!

This week as I have pondered on the blessing it is that we have a Temple here on the Earth to go and make covenants with our Heavenly Father in I read the talk
" The temple and your spiritual foundation" by President Nelson ( you should read it!) and it is fantastic! I loved the whole thing but here's a couple quotes I love.
"The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead." and this thought follows it along beautifully. "Please believe me when I say that when your spiritual foundation is built solidly upon Jesus Christ, you have no need to fear. As you are true to your covenants made in the temple, you will be strengthened by His power. Then, when spiritual earthquakes occur, you will be able to stand strong because your spiritual foundation is solid and immovable."

How beautiful is that, everything that happens in the temple is strengthening our faith because it all revolves around Jesus Christ and his doctrine! And not only are we promised to be bound to him but we also are endowed with power from on high, healing strengthening power, from our Savior, Jesus Christ. And with that faith and strength we know that as he said, we have no need to fear. What a powerful promise that is and one we also often forget. I know that temples are the house of the Lord and if we make the sacrifices and choices to be worthy and make time to attend the temple that we will receive more blessings than we could ever imagine. I know that if we keep our covenants and strengthen our faith that when the time comes, and it will, that the spiritual earthquakes come that we will stand strong. I encourage you all to take advantage of the temple and make time for the Lord!

Love you all more than you'll ever know! But God loves you more!!

Crip Walk--March 7, 2022

Hey hey!!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had an amazing week! I feel like my weeks just blend together because we do a lot of the same things everyday as a missionary but there were definitely some highlights!

♡ I went on exchanges with my home girl Sister Hammons who is absolutely amazing and we had a blast! We had this lesson with a lady whose husband is a recent convert and we were able to talk to her and I got to share some experiences w her and talk about prayer! She was so grateful and said she felt the spirit so strong and wanted to pray about baptism!

♡ We have been trying to work a lot with inactive members in our cute little branch and 2 of the families went to church yesterday!! They are so sweet and the testimony meeting was exactly what they needed!

♡  Went to my soul sister's bday party!! She got baptized a couple months ago and she is incredible and literally my best friend! She also destroyed her knee and so we are both on crutches struggling through life and I feel like God sent me here because he knew this would happen and that we would need each other!

♡ finally fixed the beeping of the fire alarms and we got a new blender so I can make non chunky smoothies!! it's the little things people :)

♡ last but not least the elders created a dance move just for me ðŸ¥°  when they yell "Hit the Hadlock" everyone does a nice crip walk shuffle (even though I walk normal!!) and then proceed to reenact me breaking my knee and finish out hitting the floor hahahaha it legitimately brings me so much joy

I think that's about it for this week! I have really learned to focus on the positive and and find things that I am grateful for, and I truly believe when we see the good the good just gets better and easier to see. Plus when we express gratitude God just blesses us even more! So for now I am just out here limping around in Mo lake, trying my best to move God's work forward! I love you all so dang much but Jesus loves you even more!
